Total Flood Solutions were awarded a £3.5m contract by Scottish Power to deliver full flood alleviation measures as principle contractor to 27 sites in their MANWEB region. This followed a rigorous survey process, with Flood Risk Assessments produced for over 60 sites in the region. Detailed flood analysis was produced for each assisting the client in determining which sites were at risk. The protection specified by the client was to the 1:100 flood level for primary substation sites and 1:1000 for grid sites.
Protecting the sites required a wide range of flood defence measures to be installed, with products specified depending on each site’s unique flood risk profile. This ranged from full protection on high risk sites – works including cabinets, doors and wall protection – to lower risk sites only requiring duct sealing works and each element work was undertaken by Total Flood Solutions’ skilled engineers.
The work was delivered over a 12 month period and was fully completed to client’s specification and satisfaction.
