TFS is the sole UK agent for Aquafence Systems providing a full design service. Sale and Leasing available
Use
Aquafence is a demountable system which can be quickly erected in place to protect and area or properties from flooding. It can be used to infill between existing defences, raise existing river banks etc and can be fitted across open grassland, hard surfaces and has special end and corner units to fit in most situations. Its is supplied in a two main heights, 1.2m and 1.8m and it is effective for dealing with wave action and even if overtopped it will remain stable due to its rigid design and construction.
Installation
The clients staff will be trained to deploy the system and a minimum of four persons are recommended to manhandle the sections and with larger schemes more teams should be made available to ensure that the system is deployed in good time.
Where the system is designed to go over hard services a pre-fitted channel within a concrete foundation is recommended and this would be installed by TFS. The Aquafence panels will simply fit into the channel and lock in place. Where soft landscaping is involved ground anchors can be used to fix the system in place.
Servicing and Maintenance
Aquafence is very durable and designed to ensure all main parts are fitted to the system sections. When mishaps occur we can supply the consumables and replacement parts for the system or can undertake the work for you to ensure that the system is always in prime condition.
AquaFence Semi
The revolutionary transportable flood barrier AquaFence Semi is quick and easy to install in flood threatened areas. A team of 10 people can install about 100 meters per hour.
Each flood barrier module consists of two boards in compact flat packs, which are lifted into place after transportation to the location. The construction is stabilised by water pressure when the flood arrives.
Standard AquaFence Semi is constructed to tolerate water heights from 60 cm - 120 cm. The mobile flood barrier has a very high safety factor. It can also be used as protection from waves, water flows and high tides.
Benefits
Low-lifetime cost
AquaFence is a long-term flood protection solution that can be used repeatedly. So a single initial investment can secure the area in danger of flooding for decades.
Preparation
AquaFence is always ready to go. When not in use AquaFence elements are packed flat in one piece, with all parts already connected. This makes storage and transportation much easier and once out in the field ready to deploy, you can be sure all the parts are there.
Lower insurance premiums
It’s now accepted as a fact of life in some areas that insurance premiums will rise after every flood event. AquaFence can help keep these costs down by minimising the risk of property damage caused by floodwater.
Non-hazardous
Sandbags become contaminated during a flood event and because of this have to be disposed of as hazardous material. This takes more time and money whereas an AquaFence flood barrier can be dismantled, hosed down and stored without any extra cost or hassle.
Fast deployment
It can take a ten man team of volunteers up to 72 hours to erect a 100m long sandbag flood barrier. The same length of AquaFence can be deployed to form an impenetrable to flood water wall in just one hour. Floods can hit fast but AquaFence can be deployed faster.
Flexible
There is no job too big or too small for AquaFence. It is used by businesses, private owners and local governments alike for projects that require flood barriers in the range of just a few metres up to kilometres long.
