Flood risk assessment
All solutions start with a survey of the property to establish the risks and sources of flooding, the construction of the buildings, structural stability, topography, ground conditions, drainage etc. Fees and disbursements are kept at cost and FRA fees are reimbursed when the system is installed. The FRA can also involve a detailed report for insurers and modelling for more complex situations. FRA’s are also required for planning applications under PPS25 where the development of property is in the flood plain. TFS provide this service to many of our clients.
Bespoke Design
Having established the design parameters the complete solution is designed by our Engineers taking account of the user requirements, including the aesthetics of the property. A detailed quotation is provided breaking down the constituent parts of the solution which can include aperture barriers, veneer walling, ‘smart airbricks’ sumps and pumps, non return valves, flood alarms, impermeable membranes, sealing service entry points, flood sealed manhole covers and frames, flap valves etc. The installation will usually require us to adapt hard and soft landscaping which can also include flood walls, bunds, drainage alterations etc as part of the ‘complete solution’.
Installation
We only use our own staff for all our installations, our teams have a range of skills to suit your installation and will work efficiently with you to minimise disruption and complete the scheme as quickly as possible subject to the weather. We will ask you to complete customer satisfaction form as part of our quality control and to sign of the job at completion. Servicing and Maintenance
As with any key installation, it is imperative that it is kept in good working order so that it performs to expectations when it is called upon to protect your property. Our systems are no different and we provide an annual maintenance contract so that your system is properly serviced and kept in good condition to be as effective as it was designed to be.
A full service is undertaken on pumps, NRV’s, Smart Airbricks, barrier seals etc and the whole system is checked over. Costs depend on the extent of the system; these will be quoted with the main installation so you know the ongoing costs from the outset.
